Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ECOVIS Vietnam Law collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit ecovislaw.vn or contact us through it.

Last updated: 22 July 2026

1. Who we are

ECOVIS Vietnam Law (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. We are a Vietnamese law firm based at Unit SAV1.02.11, Tower 1, The Sun Avenue, 28 Mai Chi Tho Street, Binh Trung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and an independent member firm of the ECOVIS International network. You can reach us at [email protected] or +84 898 120 121.

2. Data we collect

We collect personal data in three ways:

  • Information you give us directly — your name, email address, phone number, company and any message content when you submit our contact form, email us, or request a consultation.
  • Information collected automatically — standard server log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) generated by normal website operation, and essential cookies required for the site and our caching infrastructure to function correctly.
  • Information from your engagement with us — if you become a client, we collect the further personal data necessary to provide legal services, under the terms of our engagement with you rather than under this website Privacy Policy.

3. How we use your data

We use the personal data described above to: respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form or by email; assess and, where appropriate, take on new client matters; operate, secure and improve this website; and comply with our legal and professional obligations, including conflict-of-interest and anti-money-laundering checks where applicable.

We do not use website visitor data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell personal data to third parties.

4. Legal basis for processing

Depending on the context, we process personal data on the basis of: your consent (for example, when you voluntarily submit the contact form); our legitimate interest in operating this website and responding to business enquiries; the steps necessary to enter into or perform a client engagement; and compliance with legal obligations that apply to a licensed law firm in Vietnam. Where our processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share it with: service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions, such as our email and website hosting providers (our contact form is delivered through Google Workspace); the ECOVIS International network, only where a matter genuinely requires cross-border coordination and only to the extent necessary; and public authorities, where disclosure is required by Vietnamese law or a valid legal process.

6. International data transfers

Because we use internationally operated service providers such as Google Workspace, personal data you submit may be processed on servers located outside Vietnam. Where this occurs, we rely on the safeguards those providers maintain for cross-border data processing and limit the data shared to what is necessary for the service in question.

7. Data retention

We retain contact-form and enquiry data only for as long as needed to respond to you and assess whether to take on a matter, and delete it thereafter unless a client relationship is formed, in which case retention follows our client-file and professional-conduct obligations. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then automatically purged.

8. Your rights

Under Vietnam’s personal data protection framework (Decree 13/2023/ND-CP) and, where applicable to visitors in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to: know what personal data of yours we hold; access and receive a copy of it; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent at any time; and request that we transfer your data to another provider in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

9. Cookies

This website uses only the cookies strictly necessary for it to function and to be delivered efficiently, including caching cookies used by our performance infrastructure. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this section and, where required, request your consent first.

10. Children’s privacy

This website is directed at businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The “Last updated” date above shows when this policy was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
